This Thursday, July 30, 2020, at the SLC-41 launch site at Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 7:50 a.m. (EDT), NASA sent its Perseverance exploration rover into space aboard an Atlas V rocket from the United Launch Alliance (ULA). This American mission is the launch of the year as far as Mars is concerned. It follows the Hope mission by the United Arab Emirates and the mission sent by China, Tianwen-1. The Perseverance rover is to analyze the surface and rocks of Mars, in order to find any trace of past life. Perseverance will arrive on the Red Planet in February 2021.
